At the Colloquium of Violence and Religion in Rome (2025) I presented part of my paper on spirituality, psychosis and mimetic theory. Before the conference, time proved to be too short to write out a fully completed article, and during the conference, time proved to be too short to present the full PowerPoint I had prepared. On this page I will take the time to offer the paper to a wider audience in five installments. Each installment will be accompanied by a preparatory comment.
The five sections are:
1. From Religious to Spiritual – [introduction] [text]
2. From Mystical to Transformative
3. From Positive to Psychopathological
4. From Collective Effervescence to Collective Murder
3. From the Sacred to the Holy
